Reclaiming self worth

I am opening four virtual Wednesdays at 11 AM in June (Zoom Link below):  June 4, 11, 18 and 25 for a one hour drop-in class that includes reflection, connection and psychoeducation.  Each week includes a core theme and discussion questions. We start with a check-in, move to the theme and discussion and end with a closing circle. Drop-in is $35. Psychotherapy receipts available. 

Goals:

  • Cultivate a healthier sense of self-worth.

  • Increase awareness of internal obstacles (e.g., inner critic, shame).

  • Strengthen connection to core values and inner resources.

  • Build emotional safety and community support.

Week 1: Understanding Self-Worth

Theme: What Is Self-Worth and Where Does It Come From?

Objectives:

  • Define self-worth.

  • Explore early influences (family, culture, school).

  • Begin identifying personal narratives around worth.

Discussion Questions:

  1. What does “self-worth” mean to you?

  2. Can you recall early experiences that shaped how you view your worth?

  3. What parts of your self-worth feel stable, and what parts feel fragile?

  4. When do you feel most worthy? Least?

Week 2: Meeting the Inner Critic

Theme: Understanding and Soothing the Inner Critic

Objectives:

  • Identify critical inner voices and their origins.

  • Explore how the critic impacts self-worth and behavior.

  • Practice separating from and softening the critic.

Discussion Questions:

  1. What does your inner critic say most often?

  2. Where do you think that voice learned those messages?

  3. How do you feel when you hear the critic? What part of you responds?

  4. Can you imagine what your critic might be trying to protect?

Week 3: Shame, Comparison & Core Beliefs

Theme: Healing from Shame and Letting Go of Comparison

Objectives:

  • Understand the role of shame in eroding self-worth.

  • Explore the impact of social comparison.

  • Begin identifying and challenging toxic core beliefs.

  • Discussion Questions:

  1. What role does shame play in your inner world?

  2. Who or what do you often compare yourself to?

  3. What are some deep-down beliefs you hold about your worth?

  4. What would you say to a friend who believed those things about themselves?

Week 4: Reclaiming and Rebuilding Self-Worth

Theme: Moving Toward Compassion, Confidence & Connection

Objectives:

  • Reconnect with the Self and core values.

  • Practice self-compassion and affirming beliefs.

  • Reflect on growth and commit to ongoing support.

  • Discussion Questions:

  1. What helps you feel connected to your worth today?

  2. What have you learned about your parts and your Self?

  3. What practices can support you moving forward?
